Description:  After Q368 passed, CSX got quiet, so I knew it was time to begin heading back toward home. Since East Wayne was on my way I figured there was no point in skipping out on possible action there. Sure enough I found it. The DN22 job was working the west end of the yard with NS 5242 and I was able to grab it in perfect sunshine.

Description:  This morning, since it was so cold and icy, I decided not to go for the local in the morning thinking it was just Elmer and Essie again. But no, I was wrong. A remote controlled Highnose Geep was solo power today! I did get it coming back here, but cant say I really care for Highnose units being long hood forward. :P NS L69 comes back north as the snow really begins to fall with the engine and a single tank car in the consist.

Usually a high hood is the sole 4-axle Geep kept in Marion, but the rebuilt NS 5258 was showing its face in town today. This one has been around this area for quite some time now.

Description:  And while all that was happening, the L70 crew hopped aboard at the mixing center and began heading west toward town with a Geep/SD40-2 combo. I was hoping to get a better shot, but thanks to messing around on CSX too long, I barely got to the crossing in time to even get this shot. Ive never actually seen a train use the mixing center lead. So, I was a bit bummed to not get a video here as well. But, maybe next time.
