Then came a total shock. Behind the other two engines were South Shore Interurban Cars... yes, South Shore Interurban Cars. Running. Neither of us had any idea that there were operating South Shore Cars in the United States. We had no plan to even come here at the beginning of the trip. It just became one of the best detours we couldve made.

The East Troy Railroad received several of these older South Shore interurban cars back in the mid 2000s and is the only railroad to run them on a regular basis. Super neat!

The cars head toward Muckwonago through a tree tunnel. Most of the leaves on these trees had neither changed now fallen off the trees yet. Seems to be hit and miss everywhere.
