Description:  We crossed the massive Mississippi River into Iowa which would be our turning location. When we crossed the bridge we noticed the gates were down on the road where BNSFs seldom used Hannibal Sub continues north to the Burlington. Sure enough, a northbound corn syrup train was heading north. Sadly we werent able to get to the crossing quick enough to get a head on shot, which vould have been nice considering this line sees laybe 2-4 trains a day.

Description:  Despite the gap between northbound trains being pretty small, we decided to continue southward toward Galena when we noticed that the next northbound would be waiting on the last southbound at Galena Junction. We drove down to the Galena Boat Ramp as quickly as we could (that is the only grade crossing on the Aurora Subdivision in Galena) and made it just in time to grab U-CKBSWE1-01, an iron ore train, scream up the grade out of Galena Junction. All 3 BNSF paint schemes were on this train, including a rarer H2 GEVO on the front. A really neat boat sitting to the left of the tracks made for a nice object to frame the train with.

Description:  Almost right at the same time I had a pair of BNSF trains meeting on the other side of the river. However, something on US 20 east was causing a major slowdown and traffic was at a hault on the bridge. I had already committed so I had no way to turn around. Thankfully, I was able to find a small gap and get turned around before making a complete turn onto the bridge. But, that wasnt good enough, as my stack train had already passed southbound, and the northbound sand train, U-EOSEFC0-07 was approaching fast northbound. I made a dash on US 61 north into Wisconsin, and only made it in time for the DPU at the Eagle Lane Road overpass south of Rutledge. Oh well. Cant win them all.

Description:  Out of the four westbounds, the third was definitely the most interesting. Due to crew availability, CSX B223 was routed the long way via Deshler and Ridgeway instead of going down the Monon which is the route this train usually runs. This is an empty nitrogen train that comes off the BNSF at Cicero. While it isnt very uncommon, getting foreign power on the Indy Line that isnt UP or the occasional KCS motor on the I131/132 pair can be hard to come by. B223 splits the QI 198 trilights.
