My family and I decided to take a quick stop in Defiance to see the MAW. I have never photographed anything on the MAW and CNUR 5 makes my day. It is nice to see a really old Santa Fe blue and yellow unit and it even still says Santa Fe! I love small railroads you never know what you might see on them. I am surprised why this unit is not in Connersville on its home rails. This unit has been here for years. |

Upon arrival in New Castle, we were not greeted with the surprise of the CNUR crew there, rather two very quiet engines. CNUR 5 where it is usually parked, and WBCR 6, which was caged away at Neal Scrap Metals. We decided that they must have already done the New Castle work, so we decided to follow the CNUR back to Connersville. However, about 10 miles out of New Castle we got a Facebook notification that NS 123 had 5 ex-KCS SD70MACs that were recently repurchased by Progress Rail that were bound for storage in Georgia. So another pitstop was in the makings. |

We decided to go down to New Castle to see if we could get extremely lucky and see anything move. Unfortunately we just got the parked engines. CNUR 5 has a blown traction motor and other issues so WBCR 6 is the only active unit on the CNUR in New Castle. |
