Following the action over at East Wayne, we heard CFE 03 get permission into the Piqua Yard limits. We hurried over to Mike Tower, and sure enough, CFE 03 came slowly rolling by. What was not expected, however, was the Tunnel Motor was leading todays train! |

The sun was beginning to set, and the traffic was less than busy, so I decided it was time to think about heading home. In order to get home, I usually take OH 309 to US 30, which takes me right beside CFEs Cole Street Yard. I happened to find the Tunnel Motor sitting all by itself just west of the overpass. Not sure why its smoking this much oil. I dont think engines are supposed to do that. |

We worked west on US 24, assuming we would run into the train around Idaville. We decided to stop there just in case, and it was a good thing we did, as we could hear the train plain as day coming into town. The HL3 crew brings the Logansport turn job east through Idaville, with both motors making some nice EMD noises. |

We grabbed one final shot of HL3 crossing the Eel River Bridge in Logansport before calling our day of trains to a rest. We went down to Science Project Brewing for some supper, then it was time to bid our goodbyes to one another and head our separate ways toward home. The day started our fairly bland, but it sure ended on a high note! |
