Next we went out to the Kankakee Belt Railway just outside of town. (Dont know the rzal name of the operation but this is what we call it) This small short line serves a couple industries outside of town that are not along the CN or NS mainlines. The sole operating power for the raikroad is this ex-CSX SW1200, now a Progress Rail lease unit. They werent operating today sadly, but still a neat operation to look at! |

We knew we had northbound CN A407 coming, but that was about it for traffic on the Chicago Sub, so we knew we had enough time to go around the giant Otto loop and check out the limestone quarry and their switcher. PRLX 1220 sits in about the same spot Ive seen it every time. |
