UP 4014
Title:  UP 4014
Description:  About 35 minutes later, people began streaming into town, and the finally, the moment we had waited for all day had arrived; the Big Boy stormed into Papineau bound for Villa Grove. I saw this locomotive twice back when it was on its first tour in 2019 in Iowa and Minnesota. It was just as captivating this time as it was the last time.

UP 4014
Title:  UP 4014
Description:  We had planned on stopping Watseka to see the locomotive as it was on display in town for a short time, but Watseka had grown about 10 times its population and by the time we would be able to find a place to park, the locomotive would already be on its way south again. So, we jumped it to Woodland where we caught PG3SL again. Woodland had probably quadrupled in size as well, but at least we were able to find parking here.

UP 4023 and UP 6900
Title:  UP 4023 and UP 6900
Description:  Just like a visit to Omaha isnt complete without going to the zoo, a visit to Omaha is also not complete without a visit to Kennefick Park. Just a few short blocks away from the zoo is Omahas Kennefick Part which is home to two UP legends; the largest steam locomotive ever built, the Big Boy, and the largest diesel locomotive ever built, the Centennial. While they are just static displays, getting up close and personal with some of the largest pieces of machines ever built is absolutely fascinating. I made my last visit to Kennefick in 2021 when I was last in Omaha, but I arrived in the city after dark, so I only grabbed some exposures. Now, I was finally going to get some daylight shots. Originally, we were supposed to all go as a group. But, most of the group was long exhausted from walking around the zoo all day, so I ended up going myself. Which, regardless, I wasnt going to leave Omaha without visiting anyway regardless if anyone was with me or not. The locomotives overlook I80 from atop a hill just across the Nebraska/Iowa border. A truly welcome sight to railfans and other passerbys alike.
