The trim job would pull a few car lengths underneath the bridge, putting it in a very prime position to grab shots of both engines. These warbonnets sure look rough anymore, but Im glad to see their still kicking in ATSF paint! |

BNSF Galesburg Yard |
| Description: |
Once the extra GALCHI left, I saw power for that evenings R-CHI655 approaching from the south. I accidently mistook this power for that evenings L-CHI103 that would have gone north on the Barstow Sub that evening. The R-CHI655 is the local that goes south on the Quincy side, and if I would have known better, I would have had a perfectly litl Warbonnet going south this evening. Oh well. |

| Description: |
And just my luck, right when I got downtown to the station, there was a pulldown stretched way out getting ready to shove back into the yard. I accidently made the mistake by parking at the station instead of going underneath the tracks on the road just down from here and parking on the correct side for the sun. So, I ended up not getting set up quite the way I wanted to, but in retrospect, it actually ended up working out pretty well. BNSF 644 is in charge of this pulldown job. I do love the Warbonnet scheme, but man has it seen better days. |

While taking photos of the locomotive shops, I could see a Warbonnet headed by way in the distance. I waited until it got closer. The locomotive slowly pulled underneath the bridge and passed the hump tower office and came to a stop. |

And of course, by that point, another pulldown had been lined out of the yard. There were still plenty of trains to shoot on the Transcon, which meant I had only one place I could go to try to get them all; Peck Park. Peck Park is personally my least favorite area of Galesburg. While the two busiest lines converging in on the town cross one another here, the shot locations, especially on the Mendota Sub, are very poor, and railfans tend to flock to this section of town because they know they can see the most action here. However, with it not being Railroad Days and a random Tuesday, I decided to give it a shot and see what I could get. To my surprise, I was all alone. Ill take that! And despite being on the shadow side, I did get an "okay" shot of BNSF 692 on this pulldown. This Warbonnet looks a bit better than the last one. |

While we were along the UP, BNSF R-CHI476-31 made a trip up to Oregon, IL to work the sand pit. They were lined back east to Rochelle once we began heading up there, and with the Fakebonnet facing east, we decided it was well worth getting another shot of the train somewhere outside of Rochelle. We decided to set up shop by the grain elevators at Chana, and it wasnt a long wait before the train came rolling by us eastbound. Couldnt have had much better catches around the Rochelle area this morning! |

Its a sad site to see so many H1s, Warbonnets/Fakebonnets, and mini shields sitting here awaiting their fate. The CSX GEVO was the only standout here. |

BNSF 784 |
| Description: |
I awoke to a beautiful sunrise, and quickly began Day 2. A quick breakfast downstairs in the hotel lobby and check-out and I was on the road again. I think I was a little more raring and ready than the trains were this morning, however, as both UP and BNSF were dead as a doorknob. So, it was a no brainer to head down to the BNSF shack and check out the local power that was being used on the R-CHI462. Just like NS, BNSF has seemed to begun getting accustomed to using larger GE power on the locals, as was the case with today. However, this pair of GEs was quite a bit more welcome than the usual H3 GEVOs, consisting of a pair of Dash 9s; one in Fakebonnet and one in H1 paint. Unfortunately, being a Saturday, I knew my chances of them running were low. And I was right, as there was no one at the office when I swung by. But, that made it perfect for roster shots. |

BNSF 789 |
| Description: |
BNSF 789 (still in Warbonnet paint!) trails third on the westbound freight under the bridge at Kansas City. I caught a warbonnet earlier but I didnt post it because the picture was really fuzzy. That was BNSF 768 also a warbonet that said BNSF. |

| Description: |
BNSF 790 (Warbonnet!!) sits short of the Amtrak station in Ft. Madison Iowa. This will be the last train i photographed of the day because it was soon going to get dark. Today was a good day for trains. Lots of variety! I did end up seeing a Blue bonnet leading a local outside of Galesburg Illinois but I never got a photo of it. |

A fairly fresh H3 Dash 9 trails 2nd on NS 33G. I would guess that this unit hasnt been out of its original Warbonnet colors much more than a year. |

Definitely would have preferred to see this lead, but I will certainly take what I can get. I believe this is the first H1 unit I have caught on camera this year. I document so many trains I usually forget what I have and havent seen! |
