Even though I had shot the IC 3101 coming through the tunnel yesterday, Dad had not, so thats where we shot the local. I went with something a little different though, grabbing a wider angle shot of the train already out of the tunnel. |

While sitting in Lydick on what was then a very dead Waterlevel route, we hear the CN local key up the CN dispatcher for permission to head south to work at Stillwell with leader IC 3133. Well, we hoped the unit was still a Deathstar, but that was not the case, as it was a regular CN makred with IC markings and in trail a GTW engine. Also took the picture just a bit too late, as you can see. But oh well, still a very interesting catch! |

As soon as Amtrak left, CN R960, the Kankakee "Hop Job" asked for permission out of the stub track and clearance to the yard. With no other traffic nearby, they were given permission right out. I decided for a ground level shot of the depot here. Just a week ago, there were reports of a Grand Trunk Geep still in GTW blue on this job. Unfortunately, it appears that changed sometime between then and now, as today it was a pair of IC repaints. No worries though. A CN standard cab is a CN standard cab. |
