And just like that, it was time to hit the road again. The days of the trip were drawing to a close, as this would be the final day that I would be in Iowa. Another day of following the Ottumwa Subdivision, this time all the way to Galesburg, IL where I would be spending two nights at. I quick began getting ready for the day, but was halted when I noticed that a thick fog had formed over Ottumwa overnight. Not knowing the area very well, I decided to take things slow and ultimately not leave Ottumwa until the fog had lifted. I must highlight the breakfast at the Holiday Inn Express as it was the only hotel I stayed at on this trip that had bacon! As soon as I was packed and ready to go, I hit the road. Things were starting off pretty slow. Nothing was moving on BNSF, and I didnt hear anything nearby on CP either. I decided to take a swing around the CP yard to see if I could find anything sitting around despite the fog pretty much blocking any view that I had. A sole CP SD60 was sitting in the yard by the yard office. Apparently, this is the local power, and the local did run later in the morning, but I never stuck around to see it move. A Jordan Spreader sits right behind the locomotive as well. |
