And just like that it was time to head back west. Although I didnt get very far, as I heard the crackle of a westbound come over the scanner. I decided to set up by the intermediates just east of Pemberton for a different signal shot (since I had shot the pair in Quincy already). Soon enough, the unmistakable sound of EMD prime movers could be heard in the distance, as CSX Q631 rocked westward with another fantastic SD40 variant leader, this time being a YN3 SD40-3. The train was absolutely hauling the mail and were cranked up around Notch 6-8 despite the train not being super long. So far an absolutely fantastic day of great leaders on the Indy Line! Not something I say very often these days. |
