AMTK 188
Title:  AMTK 188
Description:  The original goal even before beginning the trip was to go down to the Transcon after shooting Burlington since the Transcon tends to be quite a bit busier than the Burlington main. Well, tonight it wasnt. At all. But, there was also nothing running on the Burlington after Amtrak. AMTK 3, the westbound Southwest Chief, was closing in fast after I shot 5 at Gladstone. I took a giant risk and made a mad dash for Stronghurst to get 3. And to my utter amazement, I made it, just barely, zipping at 79 MPH by the former Stronghurst Depot. This was the first time I had ever shot a train on the Transcon without Dad. It felt a little weird creeping into "his territory" so to speak without him. But, I had big plans along the Santa Fe for the next few days after the past several days with the Burlington. The Burlington was fun with its constant roll of coal trains, but no visit to Illinois is complete without shooting 70+ MPH Z trains on the Transcon!
