WAMX 6022
Title:  WAMX 6022
Description:  We heard a warrant for WSOR T4 a while back. Soon enough, we heard them give up their warrant and contact the yard to bring their train in. We moved down a few streets to photograph the train by some interesting buildings. Little did we know, however, they were apparently going to do a power swap. They left their train behind on the Rock River bridge and ended up coming into the yard light. Another trio of SD60Ms were in charge of T4, one of the other repainted ones on the point.

WAMX 6023, WAMX 6031, WAMX 6029, and WAMX 5900
Title:  WAMX 6023, WAMX 6031, WAMX 6029, and WAMX 5900
Description:  It had been a long time since I had shot anything on the Wisconsin Southern, while my Dad had never shot anything on the Wisconsin Southern, so we were both excited to start our day along the railroad headquarters in Janesville. CP and UP were both supposed to run their transfer jobs to the WSOR that day as well, so we were expecting to get some pretty decent morning action. However, when we arrived, everything was quiet, but plenty of engines sitting around the shops. Just like G&W has been doing with the GEs, WAMX purchased a number of larger six axle locomotives, these being older SD60 variants from the UP. Some of them have been repainted, as can be seen with the triclops SD60M to the right, but some have not been, as can be seen by the units in the yard.

WAMX 6023 and WAMX 6029
Title:  WAMX 6023 and WAMX 6029
Description:  A closer shot of the repainted triclops, sitting with a triclops still in its UP yellow. One thing I will have to say; I like the new paint, but Im glad Watco didnt put too much patchwork on these units like LTE had done when G&W was thinking about going the EMD route. They still look pretty good.

WAMX 6023 and WAMX 4219
Title:  WAMX 6023 and WAMX 4219
Description:  A nice comparison of the new and old paint schemes side by side as L353 passes the repainted triclops. A lot of fans that I knew were not big fans of the new paint scheme when it was finally revealed. I think it is pretty unique.

Description:  After dropping off their train, WAMX 4219 heads back to the engine facility and parks in front of the triclops units. WAMX 5900 takes a spin around the turntable to the left of the frame.

WAMX 6024
Title:  WAMX 6024
Description:  The power off of T4 continues into the yard. The codeline is still in tact in this spot.

WAMX 6028
Title:  WAMX 6028
Description:  After attaching to the cars and doing their various break tests and air tests and such, the train rolls around the curve off the Rock River Bridge and brings the train into the yard. Like I said before, the minimal patch work done on these locomotives was a lifesaver for a photographer!
