NS 3235 brings NS LF11 into the yard with a widecab Dash 8 trailing. Not too often you see the widecabs on the Fort Wayne based locals. This would be the final train that Nick, Ethan, and I would catch on our trip. Over two days we caught a total of 62 trains. Not a bad number at all, and with some pretty awesome catches too. Would have been better if it wouldnt have been dead a couple of the times on both of the mainlines but cant be ashamed with that number. All of us really enjoyed the trip, and we are looking forward to the next big outing together. |

(as we dubbed it the Ohio Trip) We started the day in Fostoria and worked our way east on CSX to Defiance before cutting off and heading towards Fort Wayne again. We got up nicn and early to start the day at the Iron Triangle Railroad Park in Fostoria to take advantage of the cool morning backlighting. When we got there, NS L37 with power only began to work the yard. As we were taking photos, the engine blew for a yard crossing which!scared some birds. Dad and I were unfortunately not able to take an end of year trip as we usually do due to work commitments, so we decided on going on a post-Christmas trip instead. Dad hadnt shot trains around Marion for several years, so we decided on documenting the old PRR and Conrail signals around town. Marion is relatively quiet train wise, but if you can get there at the right time, you can get almost all there is to see with different trains. Three locals, L23, L42, and L46, plus two grain trains, 45R and 55G, were all slated to run this day. After arrival in Marion, a CERA crew was getting ready to take the 45R to Amboy to be loaded, but at the same time, L42 was getting ready to head to downtown and south. We were there for signals so we opted out on the grain train and went to CP 79, where we grabbed L42 splitting the PLs there.
