Unfortunately, NS managed to get some traffic across the diamond in Muncie before I was able to make it back into town. I picked up TJ and we did some messing around in town before we heard a track maintainer on CSX key up dispatch and ask them for some track around the Anderson area. While track was given, he told them he had an I132 to scoot through the area in about an hour. Both NS L82 and NS 189 were working in Muncie at the time, but werent in very photographable areas. We decided to head back east to Farmland to catch I132. We got settled in by the grain elevator. Eventually a lineup for I132 was given at Muncie and the train crossed the diamond. However, Tj thought he started to hear a horn well before we should have been able to hear the train. Sure enough, he was not wrong, and I could hear the horns as well, but they were not from I132. There was a westbound behind us, which happened to be this late CSX I007. I quickly ran to the other side of the elevator to grab the train quickly making up time westbound through Farmland. For some reason though, my camera decided to focus on a single piece of ballast below me, so the photo is slightly out of focus. To the right of me was this weed spraying truck which would get on the rails shortly after this traffic would pass. |

I had only made one full day trip by myself in the month of February, so it only makes sense that something would hapen to pop up right during the first of March that would drag me out of the house. I recieved word today that the CFE would be running a Satuday Extra Upper Sandusky Job east to work with some cars. Not only that, but OHCR 4023, which was recently transferred from the IORY to the CFE, was planned in the consist. The train was not OD until 10 AM, which gave me enough leisure time to not have to wake up super early to get to Lima. Upon arrival in Lima, I noticed that the OHCR unit and the other SD40-2 that was planned to be with it was still stuck in a consist of 4 units that were together the night before on the Robb Transfer Job. I began to hope and pray that the said consist from earlier would still be used, instead of the two Geeps that were up front. I had time to kill, so I decided to get some CSX action at NS Tower Down Town before really focusing in on the CFE. CSX had 3 trains lined up, L423, M561, and Y244, all with pretty decent power. However, my IBD had other plans for me, and I ended up missing all 3. When I got to NS Tower, things were quiet until finally horns could be heard from the north and the slab train, B522, came south with a pair of CSX GEs on the head end. |

Just like 159, these are running off the new wiring and the new box, but the new signals have not shown up here yet. My guess is it will only take a matter of days now. Its a real shame to see this pair go, as it was definitely my favorite in the stretch between Sidney and Quincy. Farewell old friends! |

With the other local nowhere close to being ready to head back to Ansonia and with nothing else on the Toledo Sub, I decided to go back into Sidney to get some lunch. I knew both the IORY LSL and B Job were going to meet at Jackson Center and that was my next target, but the LSL had just marked up with Saint Albans right before I got back into Sidney so I decided that I had enough time to sit down and eat instead of eat in my car. Well, that ended up being the wrong decision, as I missed both the LSL and the B Job by minutes in Jackson Center. Oh well, thats just how the day goes sometimes. With that I went to Botkins and sat for a bit but no signs or sounds of CSX picking up made that almost worthless, so I decided that it was time to go to the trains and see what I could find in Lima just as I had done the week prior. Once again, Lima was very dead, but NS was interchanging with the IORY which gave me something to shoot. While waiting on that, CFE 10 keyed up the Chicago Dispatch to get a warrant to go west from Cole to Adams, and since they showed their location as Lima I knew they were still catchable by the depot in town. While it was just a runthrough Hamlet grain train from CSX, I had never gotten a westbound shot by the station before, so that was cool. |

After the Metra train passed, UP got very dead so we decided to go down to Blue Island to see if there was any action happening over there. The only problem with that was it took us an hour and twenty minutes just to get there which didnt give us a lot of daylight to work with but we managed.
