Description:  I was informed that a KBS train was running to St. Anne today to drop off some cars for the UP, but upon my arrival in St. Anne, the train had already departed back for home base in Iroquois. So I settled for some joint line action. The signal was green for a northbound, and shortly after a northbound UP freight passed, here seen just to the north of town.

Description:  Not too far behind the Amtrak, UP 8819 led CSX Q601, beginning its journey up the quiet Porter Branch. Mainly coal trains use this line. Only CSX Q601/Q602 and a local or two are the only scheduled trains. Still have not seen a CSX engine yet on this line, but its always fun to catch one on the Porter Branch!

Description:  We went to the show after we caught those two trains. It was very nice for a first visit! Got a couple Hot Wheel cars. Afterwards we went down to the yard and shot the various engines in the yard from the bridge. Lots of other railfans up there too.

Description:  Next we went over to Ligonier and stopped on the dead end bridge just east of town. There we saw NS 878 which had been stopped due to mechanical issues. Soon after we got there they got their signal to continue east. Sadly, the NYC bracket signals are no longer here. Most of the old signals have been taken down even the signal bridge in Waterloo. Just isnt the same without them.

Description:  After the last westbound we were able to finally get off the bridge and move to the other side of town. Though we had to do it very quickly since the road we had to take gets very far away from the tracks. When we got to the other side of town we could already see the train coming and it wasnt more than 2 minutes that the gates went down and BNSF 9134 came west with a trailer train. Finally something other than a GEVO or Dash 9 leading!
