Description:  Day 4 was show day! Even though the rails were quite busy before the show started at 10, the line to get into the show gets long in a hurry so we wanted to stake a spot before we would be waiting back in the parking lot to get in. The show was really nice as always, however, I was a little disappointed in the lack of diecast cars this year. I picked up a DVD while dad picked up several HO Scale train cars. After the show we went and checked out the display and museum downtown. BNSF appears to be taking a lot of pride in their display this year. BNSF 4562s lease had recently ended and was returned back to GE, but on lease to BNSF. I understand they dont want to have to pull one of their road units OOS but cmon now.

Description:  We arrived at East Galesburg IL and grabbed some supper at Subway before heading back to the tracks to close off the evening. BNSF 4572 leads a westbound intermodel by the East Galesburg interlocking to close off the day of railfanning. Well, definitely more trains today than yesterday! A total of 30 trains on the day brings us to 97 for the trip. Plenty of cool catches today as well. Tomorrow we go to the train show (the main reason for the trip) and continue railfanning west to Fort Madison along the Transcon!

Description:  A Fakebonnet trails 2nd on the Z train. Another really good day of railfanning. The only real slip up was the KCS leader outside of Smithshire. Looking back we should have stayed back at Ponemah, but it happens. Another really great show this year as well. The only thing I was disappointed with was there was a lack of Hot Wheel cars this year. I ended up picking up a DVD about the Kansas City area while dad bought several HO Scale freight cars. Since dad has a new job at the Seminary in Fort Wayne, we unfortunately had to cut the trip a day short, so the following day would be the final day trackside for the 2023 Galesburg Trip. Its been a really fun one so far, looking forward to what tomorrow brings!

Description:  CSX L424 was coming into town so I moved down to NS Tower to grab it. Right as it was coming around the bend, I heard IORY 4813 north Ford Yard Limits. Despite knowing it would just be BNSF Dash 9s, I passed up on the CSX GEVO to grab the trio of GEs coming under the cantilever signal. The H2 looks better patched than the H3 does in my opinion. This is the earliest I had ever seen the northbound LSL arrive in Lima, so this was a nice surprise!

Description:  Back in Illinois, we just got off the bridge when we saw the glow of headlights off the rails around the curves so we pulled over and caught another westbound intermodel headed into Iowa outside of Niota, IL. We ended up catching one more train after dark on the Ottumwa Sub (which had a Grinstine for DPU of course). Ended up with 37 trains total today, 7 more than yesterday. Pretty nice day! Caught some pretty good stuff today! Tomorro we start working back east towards Mendota, IL where we will end the day. The Mendota Sub doesnt see nearly as many trains as the Transcon does but we should still see some neat trains! So long to Day 4!

My family and I have taken a trip to Wisconsin and we went through Grand Rapids Michigan and saw a few Grand Elk units and a few CSX units though I did not get a photo of either but we also went to the train museum in Green Bay Wisconsin. So when we were going home we decided to take a little stop here to see a few trains. I have nbver been to the dimond in Rochelle before now so this is quite exciting.
