Description:  The show wasnt as spectacular as it has been in past years, but I still managed to find a few good finds, including a Hot Wheels Recycling Truck and a Meijer Foods 18-Wheeler in G scale. From there, it was back to the railroad. NS 122 and a few others had snuck by while I was in the show, but I had to make a run to Payless to pick up some bottled water that was on sale. I ended up going to the wrong Payless and ended back on McGalliard. That ended up being the correct choice, as that put me in a prime position to grab NS 189 coming south into town crossing Old State Road 3. A pair of BNSF GEVOs bring up the head and rear end of the train today. The leader appears to be missing something!

Description:  Outside of Williamsfield there is a small set-off siding that as of last year was still be guarded by an ATSF dwarf signal. However, it appears that the purge finally got to it, as when we went by, we noticed that it had been replaced with a short vader. Not really sure what to call this signal. Its taller than a dwarf but definitely much smaller than a regular signal. I decided since we were here anyway that I would shoot our next eastbound with it. Q-SBDCHI6-16 slowly works its long train into Williamsfield by the signal. The disappointment that that ATSF dwarf was gone was immeasurable, but nothing can last forever.

Description:  Things began to bottleneck at Galva. The ethanol train we saw at Wataga was bound for the ethanol plant here, and other trains that had previously been tied down had new crews and were ready to go. However, the GALNS from earlier along with Amtrak made it so there was no route into Galesburg. Once the ethanol train was in the plant, that allowed the B-EMPCHC7-23 a light to continue east. The set off siding here is still guarded by a CBQ dwarf. This really made up for not seeing the ATSF dwarf earlier in the trip.

Description:  Between this train and the last train, we heard the IAIS dispatcher give IAIS 111 permission to come north up to Bureau Jct. About 15 minutes passed and this train came. By that point we were worried the IAIS was going to come through town while this train passed as well. We took our luck and caught BNSF 8012 rushing east with an intermodel through Chillicothe before dashing to the IAIS tracks.

Description:  PTC malfunctions caused the train to have to go into emergency, which allowed us to catch it again outside of Lomax. For a 75 MPH train it sure slowed down fast. The last car stopped just a couple hunred feet away from where we were standing on the bridge.
