Trent and I decided to eat lunch at McDonalds in Woodburn. After eating, we noticed the ND&W had began their trip east. We found them stopped again just west of Antwerp, and the conductor was talking with a MOW crew on the ground. Once again, since we were running behind we chose not to stick around and just continue moving on. I still had the scanner on, however, and we heard an eastbound CSX coming from Auburn. We set up shop for it in Defiance. It took way longer to get there than I had figured it would, but M368 did eventually show with the usual GEVO pair. |

Thankfully, CSX K427 followed it closely behind which gave me a 2nd chance, since it did have almost the exact same engines leading it; a pair of GEVOs. |

I was ready to head back home, but, a green signal for a northbound on Conrail made me stick around a little longer. Soon enough, the scanner chatter of G246 could be heard, and the train continued straight across the diamond on Conrail, which was probably why M217 was holding back. After this, I called it a day. This was my first "real" visit to this area, and I must admit, I was quite pleased with the color and the results! Had a great day! |

Unfortunately the local had a GEVO today as there was a W943 scheduled to go south the day after. The unit dropped off its consist on the main, then ran down the siding to assist mechanical with an autorack that M209 had bad ordered the night before. The unit pulled up to the reservoir signals then reversed into the siding. The train still had work to do north of Deshler in Custar, but the unit would be wyed around the southwest and southeast wyes before it would continue north long hood forward. |
