With Christmas over, the railroad gets back to work. Since most of the trains were held up at the larger yards, most of the higher priority trains were the ones to run at the start of the day. First off was NS 216 with a pair of UP SD70Ms leading on this bitterly cold day. The train would be caught by the 173.5 defect detector which was malfunctioning due to the cold and would have to stop for about an hour just north of town. |
